Mangalsutras: A Perfect Bride’s Symbol

Mangalsutra is a combination of 2 Sanskrit words - Mangala meaning holy and Sutra meaning thread. Due to its strong significance in Hindu culture, it’s not just an ornament but a sacred thread symbolising immortal love and loyalty of wife towards her husband.

This is a collection of black beads and golden beads. The black color is to ward off the evil and the gold is to symbolize a woman as Laxmi - goddess of wealth.

The Mangalsutra Ritual:

It’s the ritual performed during the marriage where the groom ties the Mangalsutra around the bride’s neck accepting the bride as his lifetime partner.

The traditional design of black and gold have been drastically changing to a variety of styles and designs over the years but the love and sacred feeling for the Mangalsutra remains intact. The classic style is always evergreen but the trendy designs of it have a lot many buyers these days.
